After being appointed as Foreign Minister today, Cameron said on the social media X (formerly Twitter), “The Prime Minister called me to take responsibility as Foreign Minister. I gladly accepted it.’
He took over as the UK’s foreign secretary at a time when Western countries were raging over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In one such incident, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak removed Suella Braverman from the post of Home Minister of the country today. Recently, a large rally in solidarity with Palestine has been taking place in London. There is also a counter rally. Braverman came under fire for commenting that London’s Metropolitan Police had shown excessive sympathy for pro-Palestinian protesters.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak gave him the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the cabinet reshuffle on Monday. Former Prime Minister David Cameron said about the responsibility of the Foreign Minister, “We are facing many serious challenges including the Ukraine war and the Middle East crisis.”
