BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas has described Jamaat-e-Islami as a political party like Awami League. He said, they do not believe in Islam and are currently deceiving people using religion.
He made this comment while inaugurating a medical camp in Siddheshwari in the capital on Wednesday (December 3).
Mirza Abbas said, ‘Awami League was good for Jamaat. Those who were against the country during the Liberation War are now deceiving people using religion. The people of the country cannot be fooled by doing this.’
He said, ‘They will not be able to work with any gentleman. Awami League is a party of rude people, they are also a barbaric party. A party that distorts religion, they believe in Maududiism, they do not believe in Islam. They do not believe in the Muslim religion, although they have the clothes of Muslims. You will be saved from their hands. They go from house to house, go to mothers and sisters and ask for water. Then they say – if you vote for Jamaat, you will go to heaven. If you don't, you will be harmed. Apart from this, they are talking about various things. What big fraudsters they are.'
He also said, 'The people of Bangladesh are not very educated, but they are not completely stupid. They cannot be deceived like this.'
At this time, he seeks prayers for former President Ziaur Rahman and party chairperson Khaleda Zia.
