Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, China. The agreement was signed on Friday (26 September 2025).Under this MoU, both institutions will strengthen academic collaboration, faculty and student exchange, as well as joint research initiatives, the university said in a statement.On behalf of JKKNIU, the acting registrar Professor Dr. Md. Mijanur Rahman signed the MoU, while Professor Dr. Qiang Lin, Deputy Director General, signed on behalf of the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology.The signing ceremony was attended by JKKNIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Treasurer Professor Dr. Zainul Abedin Siddiqui, and Professor Dr. Ashraf Ali Siddiqui of the Environmental Science Department. From the Chinese institute, Professor Qiang Lin, Professor Jianwei Qi, and Professor Chuanxiu Luo were present.University authorities described the MoU as a milestone for strengthening international cooperation and knowledge exchange between Bangladesh and China.
