Rashedul Islam, Staff Reporter || BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said that the fate of the Awami League will be decided through a judicial process, not an executive order.He said this while talking to the media on contemporary political issues at his residence in Gulshan in the capital on Friday (October 3).Salahuddin Ahmed said that the BNP has been demanding to put the Awami League on trial for a long time. However, BNP is not in favor of banning any political party through an executive order. Whatever happens in this regard should be done through a judicial process.He also said, "Even after carrying out the genocide, the Awami League has no remorse. Rather, they are conspiring against the country while sitting in Delhi." He said that the government should file a case against the Awami League in the ICT Court.Regarding the recent statement of the Chief Advisor, Salahuddin Ahmed said, "The Chief Advisor could have done it without raising the issue that people want the current government for five years."The work of selecting BNP candidates for the 13th National Parliament election is underway. The top BNP leader said that a 'green signal' will be given to a single candidate based on the seat very soon to work in the field.In response to a question from journalists, Salahuddin Ahmed said, BNP is a large democratic, liberal and moral political party.We have multiple qualified candidates in each seat. There are about 10 to 12 candidates in many seats. Now we are systematically selecting candidates. Very soon, we will give a 'green signal' to a single candidate based on the seat to work in the field. However, it will be official after the schedule is announced.He said, except for urgent matters, no issue should be brought forward that can create a new crisis in national life. Salahuddin Ahmed also said that discussions are underway with various political parties to form an election-oriented alliance.Emphasizing the need for unity among political parties to protect democracy, the BNP leader said that despite differences among themselves, anti-fascist political parties will remain united on the issue of democracy.
