Desk News || The Israeli military (IDF) has detained Bangladeshi photographer Shahidul Alam from the Gaza-bound ship Conscience as part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. He made the announcement in a video message on social media Facebook on Wednesday (October 8).In the video message, he said, “I am Shahidul Alam, a photographer and writer from Bangladesh. If you have seen this video, we have been detained at sea by now. I have been kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces. They are carrying out a genocide in Gaza with the active cooperation and support of the United States and other Western powers.”He also said, “I call on all my comrades and friends to continue the fight for the freedom of Palestine.”Earlier, in a post on Facebook on Tuesday (October 7), he said that he could reach the ‘red zone’, i.e. the dangerous area, by Wednesday morning.
