The police have the responsibility to fulfill the expectations of all quarters, including the people of the country and political parties. Everyone hopes that the police will set a standard in the next national election, which will be appreciated not only in the country but also at the international level. The government is working towards this goal.He said these things as the chief guest at a special crime review meeting at the 'Hall of Pride' conference room at the Police Headquarters in the capital Dhaka on Monday (October 27) morning.The Home Affairs Advisor said that the implementation of the law is established not only with force, but also with justice, integrity and humanity.Addressing the police, the advisor said that in the election field, you are not only the guardians of law and order; you are a symbol of protecting the security, trust and democratic rights of the people.Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that mutual discussions and dialogue have started between political parties surrounding the upcoming elections. In this case, no police member should support any political party, give or accept special benefits, and consider themselves to be political activists.The advisor said that the police have a list of fascists. They are directly involved in creating unrest in the society and the state. Moreover, many criminals are released on bail and are committing crimes again. Arrests should be increased to prevent fascist misdeeds, propaganda, apolitical politics, crimes, and sudden processions. However, innocent people should not be harassed.Calling on senior police officers, the Home Affairs Advisor said that steps should be taken to increase the professionalism, team spirit, discipline, and morale of subordinate police officers and troops. Strict administrative and legal action should be taken against those who lack professionalism, lack discipline, do not want to obey commands, and show disrespect to the government and the state.The advisor said that core committee meetings should be convened frequently at the district level. Political harassment cases should be withdrawn quickly and false cases should be disposed of at the earliest. The Special Branch of the police should be made more active and all the issues of the district should be kept at the fingertips.In the crime review meeting, the advisor answered various questions of DIGs of different ranges, Metropolitan Police Commissioners and District Superintendents of Police and gave necessary suggestions.
