Desk News || Shamaruh Mirza, daughter of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has commented on the death sentence announced against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a case of crimes against humanity.She posted this on her Facebook page at 3:15 pm on Monday (November 17).In the Facebook post, Shamaruh Mirza wrote, ‘The verdict has been given. I called my father! I cried! I have been waiting since 2013! The terrible damage that Hasina has done to our lives, how many times have I thought when the opportunity will come.’Shamaruh Mirza also wrote, ‘I will file a case for our mental, physical and financial losses. How many millions of families has Hasina destroyed in these 12 years! How many people have been killed and disappeared! The prayers of the oppressed have been accepted today. Allah is Almighty.’Earlier, a three-member judicial panel led by Justice Golam Mortuza Majumder of the International Crimes Tribunal-1 sentenced ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to death in a case of crimes against humanity committed during the July uprising. Sheikh Hasina was sentenced to death on charge number two of the case. However, she was sentenced to life imprisonment on charge number one.In addition, the court also sentenced former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal to death. And the court sentenced former IGP Chowdhury Mamun to five years in prison for helping to uncover the truth by becoming a royal witness.
