Old man hacked to death on his way home after drinking tea

65-year-old Sharpin Molla was killed in a sudden attack by unidentified armed miscreants in Singair Upazila of Manikganj.The incident took place on Saturday (November 22) at around 8 pm on the eastern side of Char Ulail Government Primary School in Dhalla Union.The deceased Sharpin Molla is the son of the deceased Saiz Uddin Molla of Fordnagar Mollapara village.Family members said that Sharpin Molla was returning home after having tea at the local market in the evening. At that time, some armed men suddenly attacked him. He collapsed on the spot after being hit multiple times with sharp weapons. Later, locals quickly took him to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.Panic spread in the area after the incident. Locals say that the unidentified attackers left the scene very quickly. It is still not certain why or who carried out the attack.Singair Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) JOM Taufiq Azam said that the police visited the scene as soon as they received the information. An investigation is underway to uncover the cause of the murder and identify those involved. He also said that all necessary legal steps are being taken.The family and locals have demanded the immediate arrest and punishment of the culprits.
