The Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections are going to be held tomorrow. Amid the election heat, candidates of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and Islami Chhatra Shibir-backed panels have alleged cyber attacks.Since Monday (September 8) morning, both sides have been complaining that the Facebook accounts of several of their candidates have been disabled. The ID of Chhatra Dal-backed VP candidate Abidul Islam Khan was first disabled, but later it was restored for some time, but it was disabled again in the afternoon, the leaders and activists said. Similarly, the accounts of the panel's GS candidate Tanvir Bari Hameem and AGS candidate Tanvir Al Hadi Mayed were also disabled.Tanvir Al Hadi Mayed said, "My ID was also locked, although I restored it later. But I don't know how long it will last. Abid Bhai and Hameem's IDs were verified, not mine. We cannot be defeated like this. Those who think so are living in a fool's paradise." Dhaka University students will give a befitting reply to such cyber attacks. On the other hand, leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir have complained about the disabling of the account of VP candidate Abu Sadiq Qayem, supported by Chhatra Shibir. At the same time, it is being claimed that the accounts of Research and Publication Secretary candidate Sajjad Hossain Khan and the organization's metropolitan president Rezaul Karim Shakeel have also been suspended.Sajjad Hossain said, my Facebook ID has been suspended through cyber attack. Similar attacks are being carried out on the accounts of many other candidates of our panel. In this situation, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has called for an emergency press conference against the cyber attack.
