Desk News || US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Christensen, is currently visiting Sylhet to take part in various programs organized to mark the 250th anniversary of America's independence. During his visit, he enjoyed Sylhet's traditional "seven-layer tea" and held separate courtesy meetings with local administration officials and members of parliament.As part of his visit, the US Ambassador met with Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) Administrator Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury in a courtesy call. Following the meeting, he took part in a photo session with officials and staff of the city corporation at various levels.On Tuesday morning, the US Ambassador held a courtesy meeting with local members of parliament from Sylhet. The country's current Commerce Minister and local MPs from Sylhet were present at the meeting, where discussions covered various issues of bilateral interest.Continuing his visit, the Ambassador held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment on Tuesday afternoon.According to relevant sources, the Ambassador's important visit to Sylhet is aimed at celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence and further strengthening bilateral relations. During the visit, he expressed his admiration for Sylhet's local culture and traditional seven-layer tea.
