Desk News || Newly elected President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has begun his official duties at Bangabhaban for the first time after taking the oath of office.The President arrived at Bangabhaban at 11:00 am today, where a smartly turned-out mounted contingent of Bangladesh Police welcomed him at Main Gate No. 2.Later, a smart and well-drilled contingent of the President Guard Regiment (PGR) of the Bangladesh Army presented him with a guard of honour at the Credentials Ground.After the guard of honour, the President and his family members were welcomed with flowers at the Octagon of Bangabhaban by the President's Military Secretary Major General A S M Bahauddin, Secretary of the Public Division A J M Salahuddin Nagari, Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam, and PGR Commander Brigadier General Golam Arikul Alam.On his first day of official duties at Bangabhaban, the President remained in his office and signed a number of official documents.He later signed the visitors' book.
