Abu Hanif, Campus Correspondent || The Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) campus turned into a celebration of art, photography and nostalgia as Aesthetic BAU, the university’s photography organisation, hosted an event titled ‘Onubhuti’r Protichhobi’.The event was held at the university’s helipad on September 18, featuring an exhibition of photographs and artworks, along with cultural performances and stalls showcasing food, cosmetics and other products.The exhibition displayed hand-drawn artworks and photographs capturing diverse moments through the camera lens. The organisers also created spaces reflecting childhood memories and rural nostalgia, including a bioscope and a traditional hut.The programme later featured a cultural segment comprising music, dance and drama, adding to the festive atmosphere of the event.According to the organisers, the event aimed to portray human emotions and creativity through art while creating an enjoyable and aesthetic experience for visitors through photography, artwork and cultural performances.Rafiul Rezon, a BAU student who attended the event, said the initiative provided a much-needed break from the routine of academic life.“We remain busy with classes, labs and practical sessions from morning to afternoon throughout the week. An event like this gives us a chance to relax. We can spend time with friends while enjoying photographs, artworks and cultural performances,” he said.Mehedi Hasan Maruf, joint general secretary of Aesthetic BAU, said the organisation selected some of the best photographs from across the campus for the exhibition.“We selected some of the best photographs from our campus for this exhibition. Through this initiative, we wanted to showcase our students’ skills in photography and culture while also bringing back memories of childhood,” he said.He added that the response from visitors had been encouraging.“The response we are receiving from the visitors is very gratifying for our entire team. Everyone has worked day and night so that visitors can enjoy the exhibition as well as the overall event,” Maruf said.
