Yassir Arafat , JSTU Correspondent || A delegation led by Prof Dr Md Amir Hossain, vice-chancellor of Jamalpur Science and Technology University (JSTU), met President and university Chancellor Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Bangabhaban on Monday.The courtesy meeting took place at 11 am, with JSTU Treasurer Prof Dr Mohammad Ali Hossain and Registrar Md Sarwar Jahan accompanying the vice-chancellor.During the meeting, the vice-chancellor briefed the president on the university’s academic and research activities, administrative progress, infrastructure development and future plans. He also highlighted key challenges facing the institution, including infrastructure constraints and a shortage of necessary manpower, and sought the president’s guidance and support to address them.Prof Amir Hossain also sought cooperation in implementing the university’s development plans to improve the academic and research environment, strengthen institutional capacity and establish JSTU as a modern, technology-driven and research-oriented higher education institution.According to the university, the president listened to the vice-chancellor’s briefing and assured the delegation of necessary support for the university’s overall development, particularly the implementation and progress of its Development Project Proposal (DPP).The university authorities expressed hope that the president’s guidance and support would help accelerate institutional development, improve the quality of education and research, and expand access to higher education at JSTU.
