There are more constructive recommendations on human rights, criticism from Canada and Slovakia
The Law Minister said these things in response to a question about the situation in Bangladesh in the UPR at a virtual press conference organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday evening. He led the Bangladesh delegation to the UPR held in Geneva, Switzerland.
After discussing the human rights situation in Bangladesh, he joined the press conference. Law Minister Anisul Haque said that 111 countries have commented or recommended Bangladesh in the fourth Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the United Nations Human Rights Organization. He said that 90% of these countries have made constructive recommendations appreciating the progress of Bangladesh’s human rights situation.

Strongly criticized the human rights of Bangladesh. The United States, the United Kingdom and Belgium—all of them have praised our progress. Some have questioned areas such as elections. Among them were the United States and Belgium. They talked about peaceful elections. In that case, I have very clearly stated our position regarding the election.
