The Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended the license of firearms issued to civilians for the last 15 years. At the same time, instructions have been given to submit the firearms along with ammunition to the police station.
This information was informed in a circular signed by the Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Faisal Hasan, on Sunday (25 August).
According to the notification, licenses of firearms issued to civilians between January 6, 2009 and August 5, 2024 have been suspended.
It also said that they have been requested to submit the firearms along with ammunition to the concerned police station by September 3.
