State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said that the mobile 4G internet service will be launched from 3 pm on Sunday (July 28). He said this after a meeting with mobile operators at BTRC in the morning.
In addition to mobile operators, representatives of mobile banking i.e. Bikash, Cash, Rocket and Awaya were present in the meeting.
Protests and violence centered around the quota reform movement in government jobs. The government imposed a curfew from midnight on July 19, which is still in force with occasional relaxations.
It is known that mobile internet service in the country was stopped due to shutdown of 4G network from midnight on July 17 before the curfew.
