A farmers’ rally was held at the initiative of the Burirchar Union Krishak Dal of Hatia. The rally, organized at the Shaheed Ali Ahmed Memorial High School grounds in Burirchar on the afternoon of January 27 (Monday), saw a large presence of local farmers.
The rally was presided over by the convener of the Burirchar Union Krishak Dal, Md. Fakhrul Islam Sentu, and Upazila BNP Vice-President Md. Machudur Rahman Babar was present as the chief guest. Upazila Krishak Dal convener Md. Abdur Rob spoke as the main speaker.
The rally was attended by former C joint convener of Hatia Municipality BNP, Millatur Rahman Millat, Budirchar Union BNP general secretary Nizam Chowdhury, joint convener of Upazila Jubo Dal and former Upazila Chhatra Dal president Md. Fahim Uddin and Upazila Swechchhasebak Dal convener Md. Nazrul Islam Adnan.
The speakers said that steps would be taken to distribute modern agricultural technology equipment such as power tillers, tractors and other machinery for the development of farmers. They alleged that during the previous government’s tenure, real farmers were deprived of benefits and others enjoyed those benefits through partyization. The speakers assured that BNP leaders and activists are making maximum efforts to provide real benefits to the farmers of the country.
Other speakers included Krishak Dal member secretary Md. Nurul Islam Hoksab, Dr. Taslim Alam, Belal Uddin, Amir Al Kausar, Mosleh Uddin, Riaz Mahmud, Samir Uddin and Chanaullah Swapan.
In their speeches, the speakers highlighted the importance of using technology for agricultural development and ensuring benefits for real farmers. They said, “Steps will be taken to provide modern agricultural equipment such as power tillers, tractors and other machinery. BNP leaders and activists will continue to work to provide fair benefits to farmers.”
More than a hundred farmers and activists from different wards of Burirchar Union participated in the rally. Their spontaneous participation enlivened the rally.
