The twins look almost identical. They grew up together since birth. They studied in the same institution up to higher secondary. They are equally talented in their studies. They got GPA-5 in all exams from primary to higher secondary. They recently showed success in the entrance exam at Jahangirnagar University (JU). This time, twin sisters named Afsana and Shahana got the opportunity to get admitted by ranking 1st and 76th in the admission exam.
Twin sisters Samia Jahan Afsana and Sadia Jahan Shahana grew up in the Milpar area of ββWard No. 3 of Sakhipur Upazila of Tangail. This year, Afsana came first in the ‘D’ unit in the admission test to Jahangirnagar University and Shahana came 76th in the ‘A’ unit. They were born in 2006 to teacher couple father Md. Al-Amin and Afia Akhter.
During their school life, both sisters passed their SSC exams with a GPA-5 in the science department from Sakhipur Girls High School. And they passed their HSC exams with a GPA-5 in the science department from Kumudini Government College. They said that after the two sisters’ similar birth dates and appearance, they were surprised by the similarity in school, college, university, and results.
Samia Jahan Afsana said, “We have grown up almost the same since childhood. Both of us dream of becoming doctors. We are waiting for the MBBS admission test, let’s see what happens. All of you will pray for us.”
In this regard, their father, Ameer of Upazila Jamaat and Professor of Barachona Qutubpur College, Al Amin Mia, told The Dhaka News, “The success of the child always makes the father happy. My twin daughters, after school and college, have now got the chance to attend the same university. I am very happy about this. However, their dream is to become doctors. They are waiting for the medical admission test. All of you will pray for my child.”
