Bangladesh Inter-Education Coordinating Committee has suspended all HSC and equivalent examinations. The examination will be held according to the new schedule from August 11. On Thursday (August 1), the president of the inter-educational coordination committee, Prof. Tapan Kumar Sarkar, informed this information.
The 2024 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams begin on June 30. The written exam was scheduled to end on August 11. And the practical exam was supposed to be completed between August 12 and August 21.
However, the whole country stopped due to the unrest and the quota reform movement that started in the middle of July. Due to conflict-violence, all educational institutions of the whole country were declared closed. The HSC and eight equivalent subject examinations, which were being held from July 18 to August 1, were suspended.
As the syllabus was not completed due to covid, the April HSC exam has already started at the end of June. Even after a month has passed, the examination of most of the subjects is still postponed. When the exam will be over, students and parents are worried.
In such a situation, the candidates and parents were worried about whether the exam would be held on August 4 or not. However, on Thursday, Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee President Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar said that all HSC examinations have been postponed. The HSC exam will be held from August 11 according to the new schedule. There will be a delay in the release of exam results for as long as it takes to take the postponed exams.
Due to the violence surrounding the quota reform movement, the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations have been suspended in phases considering the safety of the students.
