'Former leader of anti-discrimination student movement missing for more than 48 hours'

National Citizens Party (NCP) Southern Region Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah said that former joint convener of Uttara Anti-Discrimination Student Movement K. M. Mamunur Rashid has been missing for more than 48 hours.

He made this claim in a post on his verified Facebook page on Thursday (September 25) morning.

Hasnat Abdullah said that former joint convener of Uttara Anti-Discrimination Student Movement K. M. Mamunur Rashid has been missing from Uttara area of the capital for more than 48 hours. The matter is creating an extremely worrying and frightening situation at the same time. This is probably the first such incident in the context of the post-August 5 period.

He also said that as a citizen, where the state has failed to ensure minimum security, the extreme negligence of the government and law enforcement agencies in conducting a speedy and fair investigation into the incident is clearly visible.

Hasnat Abdullah concluded by saying, "At the same time, I am deeply concerned about the silent role of the media in such a critical situation. This silence is creating the fear of bringing back the old culture of fear and an atmosphere of oppression in politics."
