A grand and emotional farewell reception was held to honor the retirement of Md. Kamrul Kabir, the esteemed Headmaster of the historic Kutumbapur High School in Chandina Upazila, Cumilla. On Friday (February 28), the school premises transformed into a vibrant gathering as current and former students flocked to the campus from early morning. Marking the end of a glorious 29-year career, the farewell of this beloved educator turned into a memorable reunion in the school’s history.

Presided over by the Chandina Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Mohammad Ashraful Huq, the ceremony saw chief guests and special invitees highly praising the retiring Headmaster’s dedication and integrity. Since taking charge in 1996, Md. Kamrul Kabir Sir has elevated the institution to new heights through his merit and leadership. Throughout this long journey, he established himself not just as an administrator, but as a true architect of human character. He is widely revered by the local community as the "Teacher of Three Generations," as students mentored by him are now established in various sectors of society and are inspiring the next generation with his values.

The event was graced by the presence of Upazila Education Officer Md. Iqbal Hasan, former Headmasters Md. Abdul Matin Molla and Saleh Ahmed Bhuiyan, and Headmaster Md. Jamal Hossain. Also in attendance were Md. Obaidullah, Headmaster of Choukhuri High School in Nangalkot; Md. Nazrul Islam, Headmaster of Rasulpur High School; Md. Ohidullah (ALT), Cumilla District Scout Leader; former Headmaster Md. Kudrat Ullah; and heroic Freedom Fighter Abdur Rashid. Among the local dignitaries, former President Md. Ayet Ali Molla, Haji Md. Mujibur Rahman Molla, former Vice-President Md. Kamrul Hasan Molla, AKM Azad, Vice-President of Chandina Upazila Press Club, and journalist Md. Shahjahan Molla, along with many others, shared reminiscences of the Headmaster’s illustrious career.

The most heart-wrenching moment of the ceremony was the presentation of floral tributes and mementos by countless former and current students. As the bittersweet tone of their beloved teacher’s departure resonated, many were moved to tears. In their speeches, students gratefully acknowledged that the ideals taught by their Sir would remain the guiding light for their future endeavors. In the concluding part of the program, speakers wished Md. Kamrul Kabir Sir sound health, longevity, and a peaceful retired life. They expressed their conviction that while he may be retiring from official duties, his legacy and contributions will forever remain etched in the history of Kutumbapur High School.
