There is no traffic congestion on the 104-kilometer stretch of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Cumilla during this Eid journey. From Thursday morning until noon, the highway from Chouddagram to the Daudkandi toll plaza appeared mostly clear. Although the pressure of passenger buses has decreased slightly compared to the last two days, the number of private vehicles remains relatively high.
Despite the start of the home-bound rush for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, no additional pressure has been created in the Cumilla section of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway so far. Traffic movement on this vital segment remains completely normal and fluid, bringing relief to general commuters. To ensure a safe journey and to help people return home smoothly without any suffering, members of the Bangladesh Army and Highway Police are working together consistently.
On-site observations show that there are no long tailbacks or slow-moving vehicles at any point on the highway. Members of the law enforcement agencies are maintaining a vigilant presence at intersections and key points, alongside regular patrols. They are conducting round-the-clock monitoring to tackle any unpleasant situations or immediate accidents. Due to such proactive administrative measures, the highway remains safe and congestion-free.
According to Highway Police sources, maximum priority is being given to ensuring the safety and seamless travel of home-bound people. Both the Army and Police are prepared to provide emergency services in addition to managing traffic. Consequently, passengers are reaching their destinations without any extra hassle. It has been reported that this special security and supervision will continue until Eid day to keep the situation stable.
