Neymar Jr. has been out of the Brazil national team for almost two years due to injury. Finally, his wait is coming to an end. Brazilian media Globo reported that he will be included in the team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The final squad for the Brazil team will be announced in the next few days. Carlo Ancelotti's disciples will take the field against Chile and Bolivia during the international break in September. Although Neymar's name is on the coach's initial list for these two matches, Vinicius Jr. has been left out of the team.
Vinicius was banned from the match against Chile last June after receiving a second yellow card against Paraguay. Ancelotti did not consider it necessary to call him up only for the match against Bolivia. So the Real Madrid star is resting.
The Brazilian players already confirmed for the preliminary squad are—
Goalkeeper: Gabriel Barroso (Santos)
Defender: Eder Militao (Real Madrid)
Midfielders: Danilo (Botafogo), Marcos Antonio (Sao Paulo)
Forward: Caio Jorge (Crujeiro), Neymar (Santos), Rodrygo (Real Madrid)
Neymar last played on October 17, 2023. He has not had a chance to play since returning from injury. However, Ancelotti is including him in the squad this time as part of the World Cup preparations.
The Brazilian team will start training at Granja Comari in Teresopolis on September 1. They will play against Chile at the Maracana on September 5, before the Seleção take to the field in Bolivia on September 10.
Brazil has already secured their place in the World Cup with 25 points from 16 matches. These two remaining matches will be held mainly to prepare for the World Cup.
