Bangladesh's Election Commissioner (EC) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah has described the upcoming parliamentary elections as the most transparent elections in the country's history. He warned that if any attempt is made to disrupt the election process, that person will not be given the slightest concession. He said this during a dialogue with observer organizations at the Election Building in Agargaon in the capital on Tuesday (November 25).Election Commissioner Sanaullah gave a strong message to the observers, saying that no observer, individual or institutional, will be able to show any kind of bias. The list of observers must be submitted to the Election Commission within 10 days of the announcement of the schedule. There is no need for unqualified observers in the elections. We only want quality and impartial observation. Besides, no foreign national can perform the duties of an observer on behalf of a domestic organization. Foreign citizens must apply as foreign observers in their own laws and regulations, he said. The Election Commissioner, while setting the time limit for the observers, said that the observers will perform their duties for three days - the day before the election, the day of the election and the day after the election. In addition, the Election Commission is going to take strict steps to identify and prevent fake observers. QR Code will be used on the identity cards of the observers, which will help prevent fraud, he said.
