JKKNIU researchers win ‘Best Paper’ award at IEB AMPEE conference

A research team from Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) has been awarded the "Best Paper of the Session" at the 6th Annual Paper Meet of the Electrical Engineering Division (APMEE 2025), organized by the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).The award was presented at the closing ceremony held at the seminar hall of the IEB Headquarters on Sunday evening.The winning research paper is titled “Development of Low Cost Real-Time Kinematic GNSS System for Precise Positioning in Bangladesh.” The study focuses on developing a cost-effective system for precise positioning technology within the country.The research was completed by Md. Sajjad Hossen, a student of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department (2017-18 session), who served as the first author. Md. Shameem Ahammed, a student of the same department (2018-19 session), contributed as the second author. The project was supervised by Kazi Md. Shahiduzzaman, an Associate Professor of the EEE department at JKKNIU.Md. Sajjad Hossen said, “We are honoured to got the recognition from the APMEE 2025 & We are committed to working on this research project on a larger scale in the future.”The awards were handed over to the winners by the Chief Guest, Mr. Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser (Ministry of Telecommunication & IT). Prof. Dr. Engineer Mohammad Zoynal Abedin, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), was present as the Special Guest.In his speech, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of research and innovation in modernizing the power and technology sectors.During the two-day event, five papers were selected for awards from numerous presentations, with the JKKNIU team's paper being recognized as the best in its session.
