Police have arrested a Dhaka Metropolitan Women's College student named Barsha on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Jagannath University (JU) student Zubayed Hossain.Barsha (HSC student) was arrested from Roushan Villa on Noor Box Road in Bangshal at around 11:20 pm on Sunday (October 19). Zubayed was the tutor of Higher Secondary (HSC) student Zubayed. He used to tutor him at home.Police recovered Zubayed Hossain's bloody body from a house in Pani Pump Gali in Armanitola, Old Dhaka, this evening.Zubayed, a student of the Statistics Department of Jagannath University for the 2019-20 academic year, lives in Comilla. He was the president of Comilla District Student Welfare and a member of the convening committee of Jagannath University branch Chhatra Dal.Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangshal Police Station Rafiqul Islam said that Zubayed's bloody body has been recovered. The incident took place in the evening on the steps of Zubayd's tuition house in the water pump lane of Armanitola in Old Dhaka. Zubayd had gone to the house to give tuition. It is not yet confirmed who killed him and the investigation is ongoing.University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Rezaul Karim has alleged that Zubayd was killed in a planned manner. He made this allegation to reporters while visiting the scene in Armanitola on Sunday (October 19) night. At that time, the VC demanded that the culprits be identified and action taken quickly.Visiting the scene, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam said that those who fled are the killers. He alleged that the family where Zubayd used to give tuition is also involved. The Chhatra Dal President gave an ultimatum to arrest those involved within 24 hours.
