Towhid Afridi accused of holding students hostage and recording explicit videos during protest

Content creator Touhid Afridi, the accused in the murder case of Asadul Haque Babu of Jatrabari Police Station in the capital during the anti-discrimination movement, has been in hiding since the fall of the Awami League government last year. However, the CID arrested him from Barisal last night (Sunday).

Meanwhile, it has been learned that Touhid Afridi used to record nude videos of students during the movement. State lawyer Advocate Nayan made this claim at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Dhaka on Monday (August 25).

Lawyer Nayan said that the police have been looking for content creator Touhid Afridi for a long time. The CID found him in Barisal yesterday. He used to hold students hostage and record nude videos during the anti-discrimination movement. When the CID presented him in court today, the court granted him a 5-day remand after hearing both sides.

According to sources in the case, on August 5 last year, during the anti-discrimination movement, Md. participated in the movement on the paved road of Jatrabari Police Station.  Asadul Haque Babu. The bullets fired by the accused hit Asadul in the chest and right side at around 2:30 pm on the day of the incident. Later, when he was taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.

On August 30 last year, Joynal Abedin, the father of the deceased, filed a murder case at Jatrabari Police Station. 25 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, have been named as accused in this case. Nasir Uddin is listed as accused number 22 and his son Towhid Afridi as accused number 11 in the case.

On Sunday night, a CID team arrested Towhid Afridi from Barisal. Earlier, on August 17, Afridi's father, Nasir Uddin Sathi, chairman of private TV channel MyTV, was arrested from Gulshan in the capital. The next day, the court granted him a 5-day remand in the case.
