Road and Rail Advisor Fawzul Kabir Khan said that the family of the person who was killed when the bearing pad of the Metrorail came off will be given an initial compensation of Tk 5 lakh. In addition, if there is an able-bodied member in his family, he will be provided with a job in the Metrorail.

He said this after visiting the accident site on Sunday (October 26) afternoon.

He said that the Metrorail will take over all the responsibilities of the family of the deceased. Initially, the family of the deceased will be given a compensation of Tk 5 lakh. Later, if there is an able-bodied member in the family of the deceased, he will be given a job in the Metrorail. I will visit the injured in the hospital later and take necessary measures for their treatment.

He also said that a 5-member investigation committee has been formed into the accident with Bridges Division Secretary Mohammad Abdur Rouf as the convener. The committee will submit its investigation report within the next two weeks.

A young man named Abul Kalam was killed when a bearing pad of the Metrorail came off in the capital's Farmgate area. The accident occurred around 12:30 pm. It is reported that the deceased's home is in Isharpati village of Naria upazila of Shariatpur.
