General Secretary of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement resigns

Hasan Inam, who served as the general secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has resigned.

He sent his resignation letter to the organization's president Rifat Rashid on Sunday (November 2) evening.

In his resignation letter, Hasan Inam mentioned that he is currently not in a mental state to fulfill his duties as the general secretary of the nationwide organization. Therefore, he has decided to voluntarily and self-motivatedly step down from this position.

In the letter, he wrote, "I have tried to fulfill my duties as the general secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, the organization of the July Mass Uprising, with dedication for the last four months. I have worked tirelessly with a group of hardworking workers to elevate the organization to the intellectual and cultural arena. Since the July Mass Uprising, I have been working in various fields and am feeling physically and mentally ill.

He also mentioned that after the announcement of the reorganization of all committees across the country according to the organization's new decision, he feels that it is no longer possible for him to properly fulfill his duties as the general secretary."

In his resignation letter, Hasan Inam further mentioned, "My fight to permanently establish July in the cultural and political arena will continue. Even though I resign from the post of General Secretary, I am interested in being involved in the organization's activities under another identity or anonymously." At the same time, he requested that the current Organizing Secretary, Muinul Islam, be given the responsibility of acting General Secretary in the vacant post.
