'My chances of getting involved in politics in the future are very low'

Two bulldozers have been brought back to Dhanmondi No. 32 on the day of the verdict in the case of crimes against humanity committed during the July coup against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and three others.

DUCSU executive member Umma Uswatun Rafia went there. The police used sound grenades to remove the protesters from there. A chase and counter-chase ensued. Rafia went live on her mobile from there. She also got into an argument with the police.

When various things started happening about Rafia on social media, she posted a post on Facebook. In which she said that she has no intention of getting involved with any political party in the future.

Rafia said, “Look, let me be clear, the possibility of me getting involved in politics in the future is very low. I am disappointed with Jamaat and BNP. I had hope for NCP, that hope is slowly fading. I will not join any party saying ‘evil is good’. I don’t need media attention either.”

This DUCSU member said, "As long as the oppressed are lathicharged, as long as the ghost of tyranny rides on the neck of our state machinery like the ghost of Sindabad, I will stand against the oppressor. I have no party, no political interests. I have no purpose other than standing against injustice."
