Air ambulance ready for Khaleda Zia

BNP Vice Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan said, "Begum Khaleda Zia is under close observation in the CCU of Evercare Hospital. Various hospitals outside the country have been contacted. An air ambulance is also ready. If she is in a condition to go abroad, she will be taken."

He told reporters this information on Saturday (November 29) afternoon.

Khaleda Zia, who is about 80 years old and suffering from various diseases, was admitted to the hospital again on November 23 with a lung infection and heart problems. She is currently undergoing treatment under continuous close observation by local and foreign specialist doctors in the CCU under the supervision of the Medical Board. Leaders of various political parties, including BNP, are visiting the hospital to inquire about the health of the three-time former prime minister.

Former DUCSU AGS and BNP leader Nazimuddin Alam came to see Begum Zia in the morning. Coming out of the hospital, he sought prayers from everyone for the party chief. Later, the party's joint secretary general Khairul Kabir Khokon said that Begum Zia's condition has not changed. The medical board will decide if Begum Zia needs treatment or is sent abroad.

One morning, a three-member delegation of the National Citizen Party (NCP) went to the hospital to see Begum Zia. They came out and said that Begum Khaleda Zia is in a critical condition, but she is alert and conscious. The party's joint member secretary Dr. Tasneem Zara said that she understands the instructions of the doctors and nurses.

Meanwhile, when he came to inquire about Begum Zia's health, Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna said that it is not possible to take the BNP Chairperson abroad for treatment in her current physical condition.

President Mohammad Shahabuddin expressed deep concern over the news of Khaleda Zia's deteriorating physical condition today. He sought prayers from the countrymen for her recovery.

Last Friday, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus expressed deep concern about the former Prime Minister's physical condition. He is regularly monitoring the progress of Begum Khaleda Zia's health and has instructed all concerned to ensure all necessary medical assistance. The Chief Advisor seeks prayers from the countrymen for her speedy recovery.

On Friday night, on the instructions of the Chief Advisor, Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul and Special Assistant Monir Haider went to the hospital to inquire about Khaleda Zia's physical condition.
