The verdict in the case filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana, including 17 others, for allegedly taking a 10-katha government plot in the Purbachal New Town project in the capital, will be announced today.

Monday (December 1) morning, Judge Robiul Alam of Dhaka's Special Judge-4 will announce the verdict. The state expects life imprisonment for the 17 accused, including Sheikh Hasina. On November 25, after the presentation of arguments by both the prosecution and the defense, Judge Robiul Alam of Dhaka's Special Judge-4 scheduled December 1 for the verdict. That day, ACC Public Prosecutor Mir Ahmed Salam said the verdict in the case against 17 people, including Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana, over plot allocation forgery, is scheduled for Monday. We have been able to prove the allegations against the accused with all evidence and testimony. We are seeking the maximum punishment of life imprisonment for all the accused.
