Jamaat works with religion, not uses it: Amir

Jamaat works with religion, not uses it: Amir

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that Jamaat does not do politics for individuals or parties, but for the people. He also said that Jamaat works on religion and never uses religion. He made these comments after a meeting with the European Union delegation on Monday (December 8).

He said that the situation in Bangladesh was discussed in the meeting. The EU representatives wanted to know how prepared we are for the elections and whether there will be any problem if the general elections and referendum are held on which day? We said that the people of our country are not that aware of this. So there may be chaos towards the elections. That is why we said that the two elections should be separate. If the government wants, it can still do so.

The Jamaat Ameer said that if we come to power, we will build an inclusive Bangladesh. We will not exclude any party. I feel very strongly about the country's interest, if Jamaat comes to power, the country will have stability, economic policy will be restored, and the rule of law will be established in society for at least the next 5 years.

I would like to request two things first, do not commit corruption yourself and do not even condone the matter. Secondly, ensuring equal justice for all, there can be no political interference in this matter. We are interested in forming a government with those who agree on at least these two issues.

In response to a question about whether there is any crisis in politics regarding Khaleda Zia's illness, he said, health and illness depend on the will of Allah. The people of the country are praying for her health and paying their respects. Everyone will have to leave one day, but this should not stop the activities of society.

He also said that the February elections are very necessary. If there is a slight movement in it, the country will be in a deep crisis. At this time, the Jamaat Ameer called on everyone to unite for the sake of the country and the future.
