Advisors Mahfuz Alam and Asif Mahmud resign today

Two student representatives on the advisory council of the interim government are set to resign before the schedule for the 13th national parliament election is announced today. One of them is information advisor Mahfuz Alam and the other is local government advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan.

The two advisors informed the government officials about the matter on Tuesday (December 9). Meanwhile, advisor Asif Mahmud will hold a press conference at the secretariat today (December 10) at 3 pm. The press conference may be called to announce the resignation.

Earlier, on Tuesday, some senior advisors met with the chief advisor in Jamuna. The issue of the resignation of the two advisors came up there. Many in the advisory council, including the high-ranking officials of the interim government, are broadly in agreement that the advisors of the two student representatives should not remain in the government after the schedule is announced.

Two days after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government on August 5 last year, that is, on August 8, Dr. An interim government was formed under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus, representing the students who had led the July Uprising.
