Mahabub Alam has received nomination from the National Citizen Party (NCP) for the Chandpur-5 (Hajiganj–Shahrasti) constituency. He is the Central Joint Chief Coordinator and Assistant Education Secretary of the NCP. He is also serving as the Head of the Election Media Sub-committee.The young and emerging politician Mahabub Alam was born in Pratappur village of Ward No. 7, Barakul West Union under Hajiganj Upazila of Chandpur. He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in History from Jahangirnagar University. He served as the President and General Secretary of the Jahangirnagar University Journalists’ Association (JABISAS). Alongside this, he was engaged in the profession of journalism in various national media outlets.In addition, he served as the Team Leader of the Jahangirnagar University team of YES Group–TIB and as the General Secretary of the Chandpur District Students’ Welfare Association.After completing his postgraduate degree in Bangladesh, he obtained a second postgraduate degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India. Currently, he is working as a faculty member at a private university.Mahabub Alam, who conducts research on political history, recently wrote a book titled “The Journey of NCP.” He has also published numerous articles in national and international newspapers and journals. As a representative of Bangladesh, he participated in the International GT20 Conference 2023.
