Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RAKSU) General Secretary (GS) Salahuddin Ammar has commented that the Chhatra Dal-BNP teachers have become angry due to the ultimatum given to the teachers, officials and employees who support Awami fascism and Indian hegemony.
He said this in a Facebook post at around 5:30 pm on Monday (December 22).
In the Facebook post, Salahuddin Ammar said, "I have given an ultimatum to the teachers, officials and employees who support Awami fascism and Indian hegemony. If they enter the campus, we will tie them up in the Joha square." The campus Chhatra Dal and BNP were angry! The Chhatra Dal and Chhatra League issued statements in the same language, the BNP-supporting teachers complained to the VC that they were afraid to come to the campus. I said League, and BNP teachers are getting scared.’
He said, ‘Let me come to another point – the convener of Chhatra Dal wanted to throw the VC’s chair into the Padma River, is my statement bigger than this? Where is the statement of BNP’s consciousness-raising people? A Chhatra Dal uncle announced today that he will lock the campus in 30 minutes, I said, listen uncle! Listen carefully! I will not be a burden on the campus by staying on this campus like a dog and a cat from 2007 to 2025. I will stay as if I were staying for 1 day. Let’s think about what good each person is doing by staying on the campus for 10/12 years.’
Salahuddin Ammar said, ‘Let’s take a look at whether we are doing all the work that is required according to the constitution of the Raksu General Secretary, if they are coming to Raksu after working, I will do 1,2,3,4. More importantly, let’s not see any expired non-students around Raksu. There is a place for them, they have no work in Raksu. We will work to overthrow the Awami fascists, if you have the courage, come Chandabhai.’
Earlier, on Thursday, Raksu General Secretary (GS) Salahuddin Ammar posted on his personal account on Facebook and in a group called ‘Rajshahi University Parliament’, giving an ultimatum to the pro-Awami deans to resign and warned them that if they were seen in the chairs, they would make ugly comments and ‘I will explain the rest’. In addition, on Friday, he also commented that if any teacher-official supported by Awami fascism was employed, they would be tied up in front of the administrative building.
In the context of the ongoing movement, in a special meeting organized with the Vice-Chancellor on Sunday (December 21) night, six deans known to be pro-Awami League expressed their inability to perform their duties and decided to resign.
