The leaders and activists of the organization and ordinary people have blocked the Shahbagh intersection in the capital, demanding exemplary justice for the murderers of Sharif Osman Hadir, the convener of the Inqilab Manch and one of the leaders of the July Mass Uprising. Hundreds of people have been stationed at Shahbagh since Friday's Friday prayers. At around 6 pm, the Inqilab Manch announced that they will continue the blockade program throughout the night until their demands are met.
After the Friday prayers, the leaders and activists of the Inqilab Manch gathered at Shahbagh and took a position in the middle of the road and raised slogans. This stopped all types of traffic through the Shahbagh intersection. This affected the roads leading to LabAid, Matsya Bhaban and Bangla Motorway. Law enforcement officers were seen on alert in the area to control the situation.
Earlier in the morning, the Inqilab Manch's Facebook page called for a nationwide prayer and protest procession after Friday prayers to pray for the forgiveness of Osman Hadir's soul and demand justice for the murder.
Sharif Osman Hadi was a politician, cultural activist, writer and teacher. He became known as the convener of the political and cultural organization Inqilab Mancha, formed after the July Uprising. He announced his candidacy for the post of Member of Parliament from Dhaka-8 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election. He was in the news for his advocacy of protecting the rights of the July martyrs, his demand for banning the Awami League and his active role in political activities against Indian hegemony.
