BNP candidate files petition with EC seeking cancellation of Hasnat's nomination

BNP candidate Manjurul Ahsan Munshi has filed an application to cancel the nomination of Hasnat Abdullah, the chief organizer of the National Citizen Party (NCP) in the southern region of Comilla-4 (Debidwar) constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election.

He filed an application with the Election Commission (EC) on Friday (January 9). However, the reason for the application was not immediately known.

Earlier on Thursday, the Chamber Court suspended the High Court order removing the name of BNP candidate Manjurul Ahsan Munshi from the list of loan defaulters. The court of Chamber Justice Md. Rezaul Haque issued this order. As a result, he will not be able to participate in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, said the lawyers.

It is worth noting that today is the last day for appeals against the acceptance and cancellation of nomination papers in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election. The hearing of the appeals will begin from January 10 and will continue until January 18.
