On the morning of January 28 (Wednesday), the Honorable Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, paid a courtesy call with the Honorable Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bangladesh, Mr. Yousef S. Y. Ramadan.Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami and Central Head of the Publicity and Media Department, Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, was also present during the meeting.The meeting was held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere.During the discussion, Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman reiterated the deep and historic relationship between Bangladesh and Palestine and strongly stated that the people of Bangladesh, regardless of political affiliation, will always stand by the just struggle of the Palestinian people. He also called upon the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the international community to take effective measures to immediately stop Israel’s occupation and forced displacement and its destructive plans in Gaza.He further said that Bangladesh’s prayers, love, cooperation, and sincere support for Palestine will continue until Palestine is established as a fully independent state. In response, the Palestinian Ambassador expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Palestinian people for Bangladesh’s sincere support and solidarity and expressed hope that this cooperation would continue in the future as well.
