The Election Commission has taken some new steps to make the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections transparent and impartial. Their announcement said that empty ballot boxes will be sealed in front of journalists before the voting begins. In addition, the entire process will be shown live on LED screens once the vote counting begins.
Chief Returning Officer Professor Mohammad Jasim Uddin confirmed this information in a press release on Sunday (September 7).
On the other hand, another release said that voters will not be able to enter the polling station with any kind of bag, mobile phone, smart watch, electronic device, water bottle or liquid.
Voting will be held from 8 am to 4 pm on September 9 at eight centers of the university. A total of 39,874 voters will vote in this election. Of these, 13 male voters will have 20,915 voters and five female voters will have 18,959 voters.
This time, 471 candidates are contesting for 28 posts in the Central Parliament. On the other hand, 1,035 candidates are contesting for 234 seats in 18 houses of parliament.
