On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, a prayer and Iftar gathering with orphans and underprivileged people was held in Debidwar, Cumilla. The event was organized by Pathikrit Chandina on Saturday (March 7) in the evening.
The program took place at Mahmudia Aziziyah Madrasa located in Kabilpur area under Sultanpur Union of Debidwar Upazila. The chief guest at the event was A.S.M. Zakaria Bhuiya, Chairman of Shed Builders. The program was presided over by Advocate Touhidul Islam Babu, former General Secretary of Cumilla North District Chhatra Dal.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Later, a special prayer and munajat were offered seeking the welfare of the country, the nation, and the Muslim Ummah. Speakers at the prayer gathering said that standing beside orphans and the underprivileged is a humanitarian responsibility. They also emphasized that everyone should come forward to build a society based on compassion and cooperation by embracing the teachings of Ramadan.
Afterward, Iftar was distributed among the orphan students of the madrasa and underprivileged local people, and everyone joined the Iftar together. Local dignitaries, members of social organizations, local youths, and teachers and students of the madrasa were present at the event.
The organizers said that such humanitarian initiatives to support orphans and underprivileged people would continue in the future as well.
