The convenor committee for the Chandina Upazila branch of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad in Cumilla has been formed.
A 21-member convenor committee was announced, with Jiban Kumar Saha as the convenor and journalist Ranajit Ghosh Kingkon as the member secretary.
The committee was declared on Friday (June 5) afternoon by the acting president of the district Puja Udjapan Parishad and former freedom fighter, Nirmal Pal, during an extended meeting held at the premises of the Upazila's Chhaykot-Tulatoli Sri Sri Anandamoyi Kali Bari.
Presided over by Lakhan Chandra Saha, vice-president of the district Puja Udjapan Parishad, the meeting was addressed by special guests including Narayan Chandra Sarkar, acting general secretary of the district Puja Udjapan Parishad; Advocate Sajal Chandra Pal, legal affairs secretary; Shambhu Shil, office secretary; Liton Sarkar, religious affairs secretary; and members Debu Chowdhury and Ajay Karmakar.
Moderated by Professor Sridhar Banik, a leader of the district Puja Udjapan Parishad, the event was also attended by Satya Ranjan Saha, Nimai Majumdar, Sanjit Kumar Naha, Parash Chandra Sarkar, Subal Chandra Das, Amal Chandra Bhowmik, and Tapati De, among others.
