The chief advisor to the interim government and the chairman of the National Consensus Commission, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has said that the elections will be held in the first half of February. It will be a festive election and will truly usher in a new era for the nation.
The chief advisor said this at a meeting of the Consensus Commission with political parties at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road in the capital on Sunday (September 14).
The chief advisor said that this is the only opportunity and we have to accept it. There is no way to deviate from it. He said compromise, he said unity and whatever he said, when we go to the elections, we will all go in agreement. We will not have any disagreements in this.
He said that political parties have to work together to build a new Bangladesh. In this regard, we have no chance of failure.
Dr. Muhammad Yunus said that reforms are necessary so that dictatorship cannot come. We want to close all the ways for dictatorship to come in the future.
