Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has announced a full panel of 26 members for the Chittagong University Central Students' Union (CHAKSU) elections. Their panel has been named 'Sampriti Chhatra Jote'. Five women and one Hindu student have been included in this panel.
Ibrahim Hossain Rony, president of the organization's Chittagong Metropolitan South, will contest for the post of Vice President (VP). Said Bin Habib, literary editor of the Chittagong University branch, will contest for the post of General Secretary (GS). And Sajjad Hossain Munna will contest for the post of Assistant General Secretary (AGS).
The Shibir leaders announced the list of the full panel at a press conference held at the university's Jarultala at 3 pm on Thursday (September 18).
Other positions in the panel include Sports and Athletics Editor Mohammad Shawon, Assistant Sports Editor Shahparan Maruf, Literature-Culture and Publications Editor Harezul Islam, Assistant Literature Editor Jihad Hossain, Office Editor Abdullah Al Noman, Assistant Office Editor Jannatul Adan Nusrat, Social Service and Environment Editor Tahsina Rahman, Research and Innovation Editor Tanvir Anjum Shovon, Science and Information Technology Editor Mahbubur Rahman, Student Welfare Editor Nahima Akhter Dwipa, Assistant Student Welfare Editor Jannatul Ferdaus Rita, Health Editor Afnan Hasan Imran, Liberation War and Democratic Movement Editor Monayem Sharif, Career Development and International Affairs Editor Mehedi Hasan Sohan, Communication and Housing Editor Ishaq Bhuiyan, Assistant Communication Editor Obaidul Salman, Law and Human Rights Editor Tauhid Rabbi, Library and Cafeteria Secretary Masum Billah.
In addition, Jannatul Ferdaus Sanjida, Salman Farsi, Akash Das, Sohanur Rahman and Adnan Sharif are the executive members.
It is worth noting that the voting for the Chaksu elections will be held on October 12 as per the schedule. Earlier, the deadline for submitting nomination papers ended on Thursday (September 18). The preliminary list of candidates will be published on September 22 and the final list will be published on September 25.
