Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has left Dhaka for New York to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
He departed on an Emirates flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1:40 am on Sunday (September 21).
As part of the official delegation, five political leaders are accompanying him:
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Secretary General of BNP
Humayun Kabir, Foreign Affairs Adviser to BNP’s Acting Chairman
Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, Nayeb-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami
Akhter Hossain, Member Secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP)
Dr. Tasnim Jara, Senior Joint Member Secretary of the NCP
In addition, Jamaat leader Mohammad Nakibur Rahman will join the delegation from the United States.
The Chief Adviser is scheduled to deliver his speech at the UN General Assembly on September 26 and is expected to return home on October 2.
