The NCP wants to hold elections to the Constituent Assembly and the Legislative Assembly through the legal basis of the July Charter. National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam said that the sooner the legal basis for this charter is prepared, the sooner it will be possible to start the election process.
Nahid Islam said these things before leaving Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Tuesday (August 26) night for a five-day visit to that country at the invitation of the Communist Party of China. He was accompanied on the visit by NCP member secretary Akhtar Hossain, chief organizer Sarjis Alam, chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, senior joint convener Samantha Sharmin, senior joint member secretary Nahida Sarwar Nibha, joint convener Mahbub Alam and joint member secretary Tahsin Riaz.
Nahid Islam said that the main objective of this visit is to increase communication with China. The visit will exchange views on the political missions and visions of the two parties. Friendly relations between the governments and people of the two countries will develop.
Earlier, representatives of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and other parties visited the country at the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party. Nahid, who left the post of advisor to the interim government and took charge of the NCP, returned home yesterday after his visit to Malaysia. The NCP condemned the attempted attack on July coup leader Mahfuz Alam at the Bangladesh Consulate in New York, USA.
The party's statement on Tuesday said that fugitive leaders and activists of the genocidal and fascist organization Awami League vandalized the consulate office; directly and violently attacked state institutions.
The NCP called on the interim government and the US government to investigate the attack and take appropriate legal action against those responsible.
