This evening, the People's Rights Council protest was attacked while passing the Jatiya Party office in Kakrail. When the clash broke out, the law enforcement agencies tried to control the situation. Later, when the procession led by the President of the People's Rights Council Nurul Haque Nur again approached the Jatiya Party office, a joint team of the army and police launched an indiscriminate attack on the leaders and activists of the People's Rights Council. About fifty leaders and activists, including VP Nurul Haque Nur, were seriously injured. The Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) strongly condemned and protested this heinous attack on the leaders and activists of the People's Rights Council, including VP Nur. In a statement, the leaders said that despite a mass uprising organized on the blood of about two thousand martyrs and twenty thousand injured, the various forces of the country have not yet been freed from fascism. Just as the law and order forces played the role of a party lathi-force during the Awami Fascism, they have continued to carry out indiscriminate attacks on Nurul Haque Nur, one of the leaders of the anti-fascist movement, and his party leaders and activists in the same manner. We strongly condemn and protest against such attacks by the armed forces and police. They said that as a political party that is one of the allies of fascism and collaborators of the genocide, the leaders of the Jatiya Party should be brought to justice immediately and the Jatiya Party should be tried as a party. The leaders demanded that legal action be taken against all the members of the forces involved in this attack.
