Two motorcycle riders were killed in a head-on collision with a pickup van in Kabirhat Upazila of Noakhali. The accident occurred around 8:15 PM on Tuesday in the Bari Pukur Par area along the Sonapur–Kabirhat–Companiganj road.The deceased were identified as Jihad Hossain (20), a resident of Koralia village in Sirajpur Union of Companiganj Upazila, and Tarek Rahman alias Shiblu (16), a resident of Kashem Bepari Bari in Basurhat Municipality.According to police and local sources, Jihad and Shiblu were traveling by motorcycle from Sonapur to Basurhat on Tuesday night. When they reached the Bari Pukur Par area, their motorcycle collided head-on with a speeding pickup van coming from the opposite direction.The impact left the motorcycle severely damaged, and both riders were thrown onto the road. They died on the spot.Following the accident, local residents detained the pickup van and informed the police. However, the driver and his assistant fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
