Fed up with the nuisance caused by local loafers, students finally took a stand in Chandina. Six outsider youths were caught red-handed by courageous local students for allegedly harassing female students at Etbarpur Azam High School in the upazila.
The sensational incident took place on Wednesday afternoon (October 7) on the school premises. Later, police arrived and took them to the station.
According to school and local sources, the nuisance of some unruly youths had increased alarmingly around the educational institution for quite some time. Female students were suffering from insecurity and regularly facing harassment due to the roaming of these outsiders. Realizing the severity of the situation, the school authorities immediately informed the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Chandina. Following the instructions of the UNO, Chandina police station rushed to the scene promptly and took the six detained youths into custody, bringing them to the police station.

At the same time, they call for strict administrative surveillance and exemplary legal action to ensure maximum security for the female students.
Regarding the matter, Chandina police station stated that the six detainees are being interrogated at the station. The allegations brought against them are being carefully scrutinized.
