8 More Children Die from Measles and Measles-like Symptoms Across the Country
Another eight children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours. During the same period, 33,832 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals. The information was released on Wednesday through a press statement by the Directorate General of Health Services.According to the statement, 1,489 suspected measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of suspected cases recorded between March 15 and May 13 has risen to 53,056.In addition, 126 confirmed measles cases were identified in the past 24 hours. From March 15 to May 13, the total number of confirmed measles cases reached 7,150.Data from the health authorities show that 38,054 patients with suspected measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals during the same period. Among them, 33,832 patients have recovered and returned home after receiving treatment.Regarding fatalities, the statement said one person died from confirmed measles in the last 24 hours. From March 15 to May 13, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles reached 69. Meanwhile, deaths related to suspected measles symptoms rose to 363 during the same period.The health authorities said monitoring and treatment activities are continuing across the country.
